In round two of the Shoalhaven District Football Association competition, the visitors hit the front in the ninth minute through Billy Wallington - only for it to be cancelled out less than one minute later by Alexander Priest.
The scoreline remained 1-all until just after half-time when Tyler Simmonds scored what turned out to be the winner in the 48th minute.
Elsewhere in round two, premiers Bomaderry chalked up their second straight win, downing Milton-Ulladulla 2-nil.
At Bomaderry Oval, goals in the 71st and 75th minutes by Tyler Buchan and Acelin Bobbermien respectively secured the black and golds all three points.
The other team on six points after two rounds is Andrew Timbs' Illaroo, who outlasted Huskisson-Vincentia 3-2.
At the Huskisson Sporting Field, Roos' Alexander Cheyne opened the scoring in the second minute before Samuel Lee equalised 10 minutes later.
Kyle Batalla restored the visitors lead in the 20th minute before scores were once again level seven minutes later when Nelson Bradley found the back of the net.
Five minutes later, Seagulls' Lachlan Ford was sent off, leaving the hosts with just 10 men.
Their resolve finally broke in the 59th minute when Batalla scored his second, to secure his side the win.
St Georges Basin had the bye round two.
After two rounds, the Roos and Tigers lead on six points, ahead of the Heads (four), Milton (three), United (three), Basin (three), Manyana (three), Callala (one) and Huskisson (zero).
In round three, Callala hosts Huskisson, Milton plays Basin, United entertains Manyana and the two competition front-runners Illaroo and Bomaderry face off at Sharman Park - with the Heads having the weekend off.
