CCSS is a new initiative connecting not-for-profit and community groups through communication and collaboration.
The brainchild of community stalwart, Matt Dell, CCSS will strengthen community groups and NFP's by providing public meetings, training opportunities, mentoring, social media, newsletters and a community calendar of events.
"I was attending a volunteer meeting with the Shoalhaven City Council, when I realised how effectively community groups could support each other once communication was established," Matt said.
"Shortly after, we suffered through the crisis of the fires and then COVID.
"While during these times the many community groups did fantastic work, often there were double ups, lack of communication between the groups, clashing of events and missed opportunities.
"CCSS will bring all community groups together, fostering communication and opportunities to collaborate on things such as funding, equipment, storage and events."
Matt applied for and received start up funding from the Foundation for Rural Regional Renewal (FRRR) - Investing in Rural Community Futures (IRCF) Program, partnered with The Snow Foundation to follow his dream of forming the NFP group 'Community Connect Southern Shoalhaven.'
"We've launched our first Newsletter out to over 300 community members and we are looking forward to hosting our first community meeting is on Monday May 17." Matt said.
"All volunteers and non profits are welcome to attend."
The meeting is being held at the Dunn Lewis Centre Ulladulla, 5:30pm and will go for an hour, with networking opportunities afterwards.
