Council wants residents to help improve the access areas for dogs areas in the Shoalhaven by participating in the online survey or by attending a community drop-in session.
Dog access, particularly on beaches, always causes strong debate which was the case earlier in the year in Narrawallee where an off leash trial became a big topic.
As views differ when it comes to dog access, council expects that all participants follow its core values of respect, integrity, adaptability and collaboration throughout the policy review process.
Council wants people to be open to differing opinions, ideas and discussions that may include diverse and potentially opposing views.
"Participants must be understanding and kind to one another throughout this process, and adopt the same approach to council staff and their representatives," was how the needed approach was explained.
People can take part in the process by taking part in an online survey or by attending a community drop-in session.
The online survey is open from Friday June 25 to Monday July 26 2021.
If you cannot complete the survey online, please contact Council's Community Planning and Projects Team on (02) 4429 3456 to assist you.
Council will also hold a series of community drop-in sessions.
The drop-in sessions provide additional opportunities for you to speak with council staff and about the policy review, including instructions on how to complete the survey to have your say.
