Originally planned for November 13, the current Public Health Order has seen organisers reassess and the much-anticipated event is now planned for December 18.
Princess Ball chairperson Clare Nyholm said it's hoped the event will provide some joy and happiness in what's been a tough few months.
"Many parents and participants have been in touch me wanting to know if we can do a Blessing of the Fleet Ball," she said.
"The girls have purchased ball gowns, and we feel that the ball will give the children and the community something to look forward to. Most parents understand that there will be restrictions on numbers, at this stage."
At this stage the committee is working under the conditions that there will be no dance choreography, all participants and guests will need to be double vaccinated and the capacity is one person per four square metres.
Clare said she's hopeful that that capacity numbers will change the closer we get to the ball date and the children will be allowed on a dance floor.
Festival chairperson Leonie Corrin-Smith congratulated Clare on her efforts in brining the Princess Ball back to the calendar.
"I'm very happy that Clare has been able to set up an achievable time table for the girls to participate in the Ball this year and end the year on a high note," she said.
