While Defence will not give any specific details of what the training will entail, it has said operations will be around HMAS Albatross, south west of Nowra and the Beecroft Range, south of Currarong.
And local residents can expect some noise increase in surrounding areas as helicopters approach and depart the locations. Public locations will not be used for the training course, due to COVID restrictions.
Further counter-terrorism training will also be undertaken in Sydney and Singleton.
Defence said the training will be conducted during the day and night, and involves responses to simulated terrorist scenarios.

"No ammunition will be used during the training.
"People who see the training should not be concerned that any of the locations are under any form of actual threat."
The training is not a part of the Australian Government's COVID-19 response but is essential to ensure Australia maintains its world-class counter-terrorism response capabilities.
Defence is unable to provide further information, including specific timings regarding this training in order to protect operational tactics, techniques and procedures.
