"There are so many quality builders within NSW and to take out this award is a real morale booster for our team, especially after a rather difficult and challenging year," Sarah said.
"It has definitely been a year where we have had to juggle a lot of things and come up with different ideas and strategies to keep the business running, so winning these awards is extremely rewarding," Adam said.
The prestigious award recognises the builder who has demonstrated excellence within their business based on customer satisfaction, turnover, market share growth and profitability.
Hotondo Southcoast also took out the Commitment to Local Area Marketing Award and the Customer Service Excellence Award for the fourth consecutive year.
"Providing our clients with a fantastic experience and receiving positive feedback drives our business, so it is so rewarding to be recognised for our customer service," Sarah said.
"Every single team member plays a vital role in contributing to these awards. It really is a team effort to achieve success," Adam said.
Together with Hotondo Shellharbour, Hotondo Southcoast were also awarded the MakeAWish® Australia Overall Achievement Award for the third year in a row.
"No matter how big or small, we are so fortunate to own a business that allows us to help others and provide support in some shape or form," said Sarah.
In May this year, Hotondo Southcoast and Hotondo Shellharbour donated $75,000 to Make-A-Wish Australia, giving a total of $450,000 to six local charities, as part of their Hotondo Helping Hands initiative.
A cause close to their hearts, the directors wanted to give back to their community after the devastating bushfires ravaged the Shoalhaven in 2020.
They teamed up to build three new homes in the area, which were auctioned off, with all profits donated to charities.
"Like so many Shoalhaven and Illawarra locals, we were also impacted by the bushfires and were devastated by the impact it had on our community and wildlife, so we felt determined to help," Adam said.
The award wins come after the business and building industry as a whole have faced unprecedented challenges, including the widespread shortage of materials and trades during the building boom and ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hotondo Southcoast has helped families build their dream home across Nowra, Shoalhaven Heads, Jervis Bay and surrounds since 2013. Established in 1979, Hotondo Homes has more than 50 new home builders situated in all parts of Australia.
