He had been waiting over two years to walk back on the track.
The track had recently been upgraded and Damian was keen to see it for himself.
It has been such a long time between walks he had forgotten about the incredible rock formation you see on the way in.
One part of the rock formation looks like it's defying gravity - it's pretty impressive.
The road, in general, was good - better than the road to Pigeon House Mountain Didthul, but that is another story
It was a cold and wet day when Damian and two others headed up the track, after parking in the newly upgraded car park.
The first part of the newly graded track was in great condition despite all the rain.
There was one disappointing thing about the track - no tunnel of scrub.
The tunnel of scrub was always fun to walk through - particularly for the kids.
One thing that was welcomed was the long and short sections of the boardwalk.
"Sure our feet got wet and muddy but without the boardwalk, it would have been worse," Damian said
"In general it's an easy walk and the reward at the end, even on a cloudy day, is awesome
"There is now a large platform at the end of the walk where you can sit, relax, have lunch and soak up the view."
Yes, the new and improved Mt Bushwalker track is a winner in Damian's opinion.
