As much as we do love to get away from the rat race of home life and work life, there is always a part of us which loves coming home to our castles and being able to sleep in our own beds.
Now that most of us are home, we must do things to keep our kingdoms safe.
This can be done with some very simple but effective steps.
This would include making sure you lock up before you go anywhere.
Do not think that your home is safe because you may only be next door or across the road.

Most doors come with locks and they should be used.
While we are speaking along the lines of locks, upgrading to a deadlock would improve the security of your home.
They always say home is where the heart is, so take some simple steps to keep it safe.
You may have a nice solid door, which won't do much if you don't have a heavy-duty lock to keep it locked closed.
Did you know the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory has the world's heaviest hinged door, which was eight feet thick, nearly 12 feet wide, and weighed 97,000 pounds.
Still wouldn't do much if it was left unlocked and opened while people are away.
Another is to use shatter proof glass or protective film on your windows.
It just makes it that little bit harder for crooks to break out the window and unlock it from inside.
Don't leave keys for windows in the window itself. It may tempt someone who may be having a stickybeak.
Technology is a wonderful thing, with so much variety out there regarding alarm systems and security cameras.
Think about investing in these to help beef up your home security.
These days there are security cameras which you can view live from your mobile if unwanted visitors decide to target your home.
Even seeing these types of measures around homes may be enough to deter those opportunistic crooks unless they want to have a greater risk of being caught.
They always say home is where the heart is, so don't let anyone in to disrupt that safe haven.
