Richard Tognetti took musicians from the Australian Chamber Orchestra and surfers to the world heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef making music and surfing with the locals.
In 2012, he took musicians and surfers to the rugged surf coast and tough desert landscape of northern Western Australia to create a new performance piece at the intersection of music and nature.
Travelling with Tognetti to world heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, making music and surfing with the locals, was a remarkable collection of artists: photographer Jon Frank, director Mick Sowry, composer Iain Grandage, didgeridoo player Mark Atkins, singer Stephen Pigram and musicians from the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
Together they have created The Reef, a performance using music and film to delve into the links between surfing, the ocean, landscape and music.
The Berry Street, Nowra gallery is open Tuesday to Friday 10am - 4pm Saturday 10am - 2pm, closed Sunday, Monday and on public holidays.
