In Sydney, a Seahawk MH-60R Romeo helicopter from Albatross' 816 Squadron flew the Australian National Flag past HMAS Canberra during Australia Day celebration.
The helo carried an underslung Australian National Flag around Sydney's Northern Beaches, through the Harbour and down south to Nowra.

A similar flypast by another Romeo was held in Canberra with the aircraft providing a stunning sight as it flew over the National Corillon.
The Australian Defence Force (ADF) joined NSW community celebrations to mark Australia Day 2022.
The Australian Army, Royal Australian Navy and Royal Australian Air Force combined for the Salute to Australia.
During the Salute, HMAS Parramatta was the centrepiece at Sydney Cove, Army fired a 21-gun salute from Hicksons Road Reserve and an F-35A Lightning II demonstrated its capability in an aerial display.
Over the course of the day, spectators on the harbour foreshore viewed HMAS Diamantina as the flagship for the Australia Day Regatta.
In the evening, the Army's Red Beret's descended above the Sydney Opera House in a parachute display, which coincided with the Australia Day Live Concert.
The Canberra flypast was part of the ceremonies where Australia's Federation Guard, a ceremonial unit made up of members from the Royal Australian Navy, Australian Army, and Royal Australian Air Force, and represents Australia in various roles both domestically and abroad, conducted a flag-raising ceremony and 21 gun salute for the 2022 Australia Day ceremony.
