"So yeah the entire East Coast of Australia walked," Fenndog said on an Instagram post in Spirit of Tasmania terminal, Melbourne recently.
He had just completed the major part of his mental health-related walk.
The Conjola resident's epic 'Cape to Cape for a Life Worth Living' walk from Cape York [the most northern point of Australia] to South East Cape [the most southern point of Tasmania on the south east] started in July 2021.
He now has the Tasmanian stretch of the walk to complete.
His walk in the name of suicide awareness and mental health.
The walk has a fundraising component for the Black Dog Institute and so far he has raised $54,570.
Fenndog has had some "extremely extremely " highs and lows during his epic trek.
"I have felt highs that I have not felt in a very long time - to lows that I have not felt - I have never felt ever," he said.
He is struggling to acknowledge what he has done and achieved.
However, his efforts are amazing and need to be acknowledged.
Not many people could have walked the entire east coast of Australia which equates to 4480 kilometres.
"As far as I know there is only one other person I know of who has done the walk that I have," he said.
"I am glad the mainland is done." He estimates the walk to the bottom of Tasmania will be a trek of 400 odd kilometres.
"Thank you to absolutely everyone who has assisted and messaged me," he said.
"I am coming to the end of the trip and it's almost like you are coming home."
His sacrifices should also be mentioned.
"I have not per say had a personal life for seven months. I have not been able to hang up the shoes and stop in seven months - day in day out I have had something on," he said.
"Cheers to everyone."
His GoFundMe page is still open and all donations are warmly received. Go here to donate.
