A NSW Police spokesperson said more than 300 infringement notices for speeding, drink driving, not wearing seatbelts and using a mobile phone while driving were issued on the first day of the Easter long weekend alone.
Police conducted 6695 breath tests across the regions, and 106 people were charged with drink-driving.
The most common offence was speeding, with 191 infringement notices issued.
Ten people were caught without their seatbelts, and three with their mobile phones.
The region, which extends from Wollongong in the north to the Victorian border in the south, and west to Deniliquin, also recorded five major crashes on Good Friday, with three injured.
Fortunately, no lives were lost.
