The New Zealand Herald has reported that Alan Langdon (49) and his six-year-old daughter Que were seen by an Ulladulla resident who recognised them from missing persons posters.
It’s believed the pair had been onshore for less than three days when the resident reported the sighting.
Langdon, 49, who has a history of taking off with his daughter, left Waikato's Kawhia Harbour in the North Island of New Zealand on December 17.
The NZ Herald reported that child recovery expert Col Chapman had been hired to track the pair down.
Que’s mother, Ariane Wyler, had been holding out hope for their safety, as Langdon is an experienced yachtsman and had absconded to Australia with their daughter before.
Chapman told the Herald he was informed through official sources that Langdon and Que were in Australia.
"She is thrilled, she's over the moon she couldn't be happier," he told the Herald.
More to come.
