The Ulladulla resident impressed on Fashions on the Field at Mollymook Cup last year.
Mollymook Cup will be held this Sunday, October 22, with Shoalhaven City Turf Club one of eight South East clubs to host a Fashions on the Field heat.
The winner will travel to Goulburn on Country Championships Day to compete in the final and be in the running to win $5000 in prizes. Amy Hay from Sapphire Coast Turf Club took out the crown.
With last year’s heat win under her belt, Emily offered some tips for this year’s entrants.
“Ladies – elegance and class is most important,” she said.
“Dresses should cover the knee at least, no cleavage, bright colours that are on trend for the season and have fun.”
While her beautiful red dress and fascinator captured the judge’s eye last year, Emily said confidence and a “bright, big smile” are equally as important.
When it comes to the question on everyone’s lips, “hat or fascinator?”, Emily said it comes down to personal choice, but it will be the most important item to consider.
“The fascinator or hat is what sets off your overall look,” she said.
“Ensuring the outfit flows from top to bottom with each part matching or complementing in one way or another.
“My personal choice is a fascinator. However, what is going to complement the outfit best is the way to go.”
Emily is set to shine again this year in a dress she designed herself and sewed by her mum.
A fascinator from her favourite milliner will bring the outfit together.
The first race will kick off at about 1pm. The fashionable fillies competition will be judged after race three, at approximately 2.30pm, followed by the elegant lady after race four and the best dressed gent after race five.
Tickets can be purchased from Coyote Boutique, on the Princes Highway, Ulladulla, until Friday at 5pm for $25, which includes a bus, leaving at 11.15am, from Ulladulla or Milton to the venue. Phone 4455 7899.
