The URC welcomed back Wendy and Max from Wagga, as it's been a while since they have ridden with the club.
Also great to see Gai and Amber out for an early ride.
Even though it was shaping up as a super hot day, the early conditions were still and foggy as the riders wound their way into the hills.
The pace was steady on the way out to Pigeon House, however a late surge by Ben Rolfe followed closely by Chris Tuft, saw them reach the turnoff in good time.
The fog quickly burnt off and by the time the riders arrived back in Milton for coffee at Duke and Co it was already well into the high 20's, with smoothies and iced coffee the order of the day.
In the coming weeks the URC Cycling Calendar for the year will be published.
It will have a great list of club activities, local and Australia-wide events, plus a few highlight nights from the upcoming grand tours (Tour de France etc) when the URC will be holding some fun club nights to watch the main stages.
Kudos to Paul Sheridan, training for his 2nd Tour de Cure starting in April 2017.
Paul topped all records for the week just past – 319 kilometres for the week, longest ride of 110 kilometres, and most climbing – 2998 metres – well done Paul.
In other news our RATS cycling ambassadors at large, Lauri and Martin, have been making the most of their time in Abu Dhabi.
They have posted a number of runs they’ve done, plus this week they took part in the free riding on the Yas Marina F1 circuit.
It’s about 5.5 kilometres, perfect bitumen and is opened up for public riding every Sunday and Tuesday night.
Ulladulla RATS Cyclists (URC) aims to promote varied and interesting group rides for RATS, visitors and anyone just looking to join in.
The easiest way to get involved in a group ride is simply to turn up on any Saturday morning, at 7am, at the Heritage Bakery, Milton.
The typical Saturday morning ride is 30-40 kilometres, with a 'No Drop' policy (meaning you'll never be left behind). Or you can ring or text Phil, on 0417 047 120.
