Performing in front of 200 sweaty people in a pub is exactly what Boo Seeka will do when they play in Milton, and they wouldn’t want it any other way.

The international act will stop in the coastal town as part of their ‘Does This Last’ regional tour.
The band’s lead singer Ben Gumbeton said he loved the small gig vibe.
“There is something about playing in front of 200 people, crammed up, right there, with no barrier, no nothing and you have beer splashing on you,” he said.
“I love that stuff. I find regional tours, capital city tours and festivals remarkably different in all the most amazing ways.
“I love playing in Sydney and Melbourne in front of 900 plus people but there is something about the intimate pub scene, where everyone is right there up with the band and sweaty.”
Gumbeton said regional shows were a massive part of what Boo Seeka wanted to do.
“There are so many amazing places to see and people to hang out with,” he said.
“We want to play to people who really want to hear the music so why should we only play in the capital cities and not literally everywhere we possibly can.
“It is what we have wanted to do, and we will keep visiting as many places as possible.”
He said they would play a mix of old and new songs, as well as some covers, at the two Milton Shows on June 16 and 17.
“We will play everything we have put out. A lot of people have been asking us to play the Like a Version we did on Triple J and we definitely are,” Gumbeton said.
“We are going to be doing all the singles that everyone knows and a bunch of other songs. Hopefully it will be one big fun party for two nights.”
The set will run for just over an hour and will begin after supporting act Gold Member.
Gumbeton said he was “stoked” most regional tour shows had “almost sold out”. The Commercial Hotel Milton shows are among the gigs with only few tickets left.
“We are stoked and can’t believe all the shows have pretty much sold out so far,” he said.
“Everyone sings very, very loudly to all the songs they know and they respond really well to some new songs we are trying out on the road for the album.
“We can’t ask for much more.”
Gumbeton said they would return to Milton again was thrilled to be playing at the venue he once attended as an 18-year-old.
“I grew up surfing my whole life and there are some amazing spots down there,” he said.
“I spent a lot of time surfing as a kid and I remember being 18 and going to the Commercial Hotel and drinking beers and listening to Sunday afternoon music.
“Now I am honoured enough to be able to go and play there myself.”
Following the regional tour, Boo Seeka will travel to Europe, America and then back to Australia to release a new album and tour again.
