The society started in 1974 when the late Jean Hill was asked to host an art class for the Nowra Technical College in Milton.
The students had to move from home to home for some time until eventually along with the potters, they were given the keys of the Millhouse in the grounds of the Ulladulla Civic Centre.
From here the artists practiced and established themselves as “artists in residence”.
By 1995 membership had grown considerably and the need for larger premises led the committee to approach council with a view to renting rooms in the TAFE building in Milton. They were successful anow host four exhibitions a year.
The gallery is open from 10am – 3pm weekends and school holidays. For more information visit www.millhouseartsociety.com
