Shoalhaven City Council has joined Shellharbour, Wollongong and Kiama councils in organising the awards, which recognise Aboriginal people who have contributed significantly to the community.
The community is encouraged to make nominations in the following categories: Aboriginal Elder of the Year, Aboriginal Community Representative of the Year, Aboriginal Young Achiever of the Year, Aboriginal Community Volunteer of the Year, Aboriginal Organisation of the Year and Outstanding Contribution to Reconciliation.
Visit www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au for a nomination form. Nominations close on Tuesday, July 11. The 2017 award winners will be announced at a dinner in Wollongong on Saturday, July 22.
