The Milton-Ulladulla Model Railway Club Association, the Milton Ulladulla Pre-School Association and the Ulladulla and District Community Resource Centre were all presented with cheques last week.
Established in 1999 to back to the local communities where IMB members live and work, the IMB Community Foundation provides financial assistance to not-for –profit groups selected on the merit of their contribution to the local area.
This year the Foundation pledged more than $500,000 to 45 not-for-proft groups across NSW and the ACT.
The Milton-Ulladulla Model Railway Club Association will use its grant to conduct workshops for young people and seniors, teaching them the art of model-building.
The group will also use the funding to upgrade layouts and to acquire a trailer to transport layouts to schools.
The Milton-Ulladulla Pre-School Association will use its funding to make accreditation training available for childcare workers and teachers, including workshops and general education.
The Ulladulla and Districts Community Resources Centre will use its funds to collaborate with the Rotary Club of Milton-Ulladulla on a U-Turn-The-Wheel safe driving course for teens and their parents.
IMB CEO Robert Ryan said the IMB was “truly delighted to be in a position to support the communities that have supported us for many years”.
“I am convinced that the diverse range of projects supported this year will continue to flourish and positively contribute to their local communities,” he said.
Since the commencement of funding in 2000, the IMB Community Foundation has supported more than 350 community groups to the tune of more than $6 million.
