The “fit-out” will be done in January and services will then start and it is hoped by mid January the service will be operational six days per week.
The Auxiliary handed over a cheque to the Health Department for $175,000.00 for the purchase of the equipment for the Renal Unit. This money has been raised over the past three years with the help of our fabulously generous community.
To celebrate this milestone the Auxiliary is holding a Renal Care Celebration Dinner on November 19 at the Ex-Servos. Cost is $50 and it will start at 6pm.
There will be a three course meal, music, raffles and auctions. Tickets will be available from the club from October 1. Get a group together and book a table for a great night out. For more details check out our Facebook page.
Sunny Ord, community representative from Save Maternity Facilities at Milton who is on the Steering Committee formed by the Hospital, addressed the last meeting of the Auxiliary and explained how her group was progressing with the return of services to the hospital.
They are having weekly meetings with all those concerned in reviewing the situation and hopefully the return of the service is not too far away.
