Early on Tuesday, June 4, the Stuart’s mini coach left Ulladulla headed for an overnight stay in Tumut with 21 VIEW Club members on board, 16 from Milton Ulladulla, four from Sussex South and Enid Everingham from Ulladulla Evening.
The coach travelled via Bega and arrived in time for ‘Happy Hour’ at the Amaroo Motel where some of the Tumut committee members joined the group for a pre-dinner welcome. Later in the evening the Milton Ulladulla girls, after warning all the other guests, held a Pyjama Party in one of the rooms with Enid as chaperon.
It was a riot.
The next morning after some sightseeing and retail therapy the group attended Tumut Day VIEW Club’s 40th Birthday Luncheon at the Golf Club.
There were many other clubs present from the surrounding areas and during the proceedings a history of the formation of Tumut Day VIEW was given with some of the inaugural members in attendance.
Trina Thomson, mayor of Tumut Shire Council, gave a very moving speech about her mother joining the club 40 years ago and what it meant to her.
After lunch kids from the Franklin Public School Choir gave a very energetic performance.
It was then back on the coach for the trip home after two hectic but fun days.
The last luncheon of the Milton Ulladulla VIEW Club held on Thursday, May 23, was well attended with president Lynda Lalich welcoming Shirley Shaw and Kerry McKeough who became new members on the day.
Guest speaker Helen Quinn the sales consultant from Sarah Clayton Residential Care gave a detailed insight into the facilities at Sarah Claydon and the workings of IRT.
During the meeting the members were given a chance to farewell assistant delegate Pat Barbe who is returning to the Shire.
She will be sadly missed as she was a valued member of the committee for many years.
The bus trip to Pigeon House Tea Rooms on Thursday, June 20, has had a great response with over thirty members and guests going.
The bus will leave the ExServos at 11.30am for those travelling on it and there will also be a car pool.
Please note the next meeting will be held on Thursday, June 27, with the guest speakers being Peter and Valerie Barnes who will speak about her latest book.
This is a lunch not to be missed as they are a very interesting couple.
The Trading Table will feature ‘All Goodies’ for sale.
Members can bring stationery items along on the day for the Learning for Life Nowra office.
Apologies must be made before 9am Wednesday, June 26, to Lynda on 4454 5531 or Dianne on 4454 1535 – unfortunately failure to do so will result in payment for the meal.
Diary Notes:
Thursday, August 22, will be the Annual Auction so start collecting items now.

This event ‘Cup Day Party – Lunch, Fun and Fashion’ will be held in the Function Centre at the ExServos with tickets to be sold in town and open to the public so keep this day free.
VIEW stands for Voice, Interest and Education of Women and is an Australia wide volunteer organization supporting The Smith Family’s Learning For Life Program which helps disadvantaged Australian children with their educational needs.
The club is about ‘Fun and Friendship’ while also supporting the Learning For Life Program.
Meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month (except December) at the Milton Ulladulla ExServos Club.
