The three absolute beachfront properties were purchased by Sydney couple David and Renee Greiner who are planning to build their dream home on the site.
David, who worked in computer software, said local tradespeople would be used to build the two-story residence, with the project being managed by Sydney building firm Join Constructions.
He said the home would feature a pool and landscaped gardens.
“It won’t be obnoxious or stand-out and will be no higher than the other beach houses in the area,” he said.
The couple, with two young sons, plans to remain living and working in Sydney and hope to visit the residence as often as possible once it is completed in about 18 months’ time.
David said he and Renee had holidayed in Mollymook for many years and they loved the beachside village.
“We are looking forward to having plenty of space for the kids and our friends to enjoy,” he added.
Confirming that he is no relation of former NSW premier Nick Greiner, David assured Mollymook residents that his beach front development was not a multi-story apartment complex, or motel, despite some rumours that had been circulating.
The three blocks, 88, 90 and 92 Mitchell Parade, were purchased in 2012 and 2013 for more than $3.7 million.
