The association hopes everyone’s touch boots are out of the cupboard and skills are ready to be placed back into action.
Tonight is the night for seniors to come back to touch football and juniors will start on October 8 when school resumes.
Juniors
There are a few awesome changes to juniors this year, one of them being the suggested touch divisions.
Minis- years kinder, first and second
Primary - years three, four and five
Primary/high school- years six and seven
High school- years eight and nine
High school- years 10, 11 and 12
This is based on the year you are in.
These divisions will depend entirely on the numbers of players registered.
These may also be mixed teams, and if this is the case, girls will receive two points per try to ensure all players have a fair amount of play.
The time slots for juniors will either be 4pm or 5pm each week and teams will have training with their allocated coach prior to the start of the games.
All juniors will play one game each week up until Christmas and then will resume again next year when school goes back.
This will continue right through until March 2015.
In order to enhance young touch player’s skills, children who wish to play in opens men’s or women can, however, they need to be 12 years of age or older at the start of the tournament and have parental written consent.
A discounted rate applies if a touch player is playing in opens and juniors.
Willing coaches and referees are much appreciated and are needed from family and/or friends.
The last day for junior registrations will be this Wednesday, September 17 as players need to be placed into teams.
To ensure every child is placed in a team and no one is forgotten, could all parents please text Kim Roughley on 0467 564 565 with your child’s name, school and year they are in before the school holidays.
Registrations can be done online at www.foxsportspulse.com.
If two or more children are playing from the same family, then there is a discount rate.
Registration then needs to be done in person tonight at Frogs Holla or call Leanne Murray on 0407 013 705.
Seniors
Senior touch players are excited to have their first game tonight.
Registration is still open tonight and because of this and the possible addition of further teams, this first round may not be accounted for in the final point score.
Those players who are currently not placed in a team or teams that have not yet registered please see Leanne Murray tonight or contact her on 0407 013 705 and hopefully positions will still be available.
For senior teams, a nomination form can be picked up from Sports Power, Coyote or print off the MUTA website www.foxsportspulse.com.
The first page needs to be filled in and then given to Leanne Murray tonight with payment.
All over 35s men’s players can also play in open men’s, as the time slots are different.
Unfortunately due to limited nominations for mixed teams, this division will no longer be going ahead.
For all divisions, both juniors and seniors please hurry and get your name or teams in now.
Again, discounts apply for family rates and if the touch player is playing in more than one division.
You can find out further information by “liking us” on Facebook at Milton Ulladulla Touch Football, contact Jenny Moore on 0414 081 156 or email Adam Cooper on kim.roughley@bigpond.com.
MUTA welcome all new and previous players and look forward to an exciting touch tournament.
