In fact at the peak of the torrential rain the SES was receiving one call for help a minute from the Milton Ulladulla region.
Calls have come mostly from Ulladulla and Mollymook, although pleas for help also came from Manyana and Milton.
Several homes and yards have been flooded, and residents of the new social housing units in North Street, Ulladulla, were left counting the cost of flood damage for the second time since moving in two years ago.
The rain has blocked several roads including Matron Porter Drive near Frogs Holla and the Princes Highway just south of Ulladulla, resulting in traffic banking back through the Ulladulla central business district.
Motorists are advised to avoid the region because no diversions are possible.
Water has also been flowing across the highway in the vicinity of Millard’s Creek.
There is also water across the Road in Golf Road, Mollymook, and water has threatened several building including the new Ulladulla Civic Centre and the Mollymook Golf Club.
Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions.
The flooded roads followed torrential rain hitting Ulladulla yesterday.
The rain fell in particularly heavy patches, with 33mm falling in the 30 minutes from 2pm to 2.30pm.
And there was 59mm, or over two inches in the old scale, from 1.30pm to 2.30pm, along with another 21mm from noon until 12.30am.
Ulladulla’s rainfall total between 9am and 3pm yesterday was 110mm.
But the rain was not the only thing hitting the region, as wind gusts of up to 96km/h sent the heavy rain sideways.
