The girls, who are six of the Milton and Ulladulla district’s best and brightest young female ambassadors, gathered at the ExServos Club last Saturday for their photos ahead of their judging day and presentation evening on November 29.

Here a panel of three judges will share lunch with the contestants then each will get a 15 minute interview when judges will get to know the contestants.

It is not a beauty pageant, but each entrant will then get dressed in their finest for the presentation at the ExServos.

Each girl will be presented to the community and invited up on stage for an interview, with the winner to be announced at the end of the night.

The women are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech. 

Finalists must also demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs and are also judged on their involvement in and experience of rural affairs.

Entrants must have a genuine interest in, and knowledge of, rural NSW.

Although the judging day can sound quite daunting, Milton Showgirl coordinator Angela Brook said it was actually a lot of fun.

“I am really impressed with the girls who have put their hand up this year, they are all really good contestants,” she said.

In addition to judging day, a perk of the showgirl competition is the entrants get to immerse themselves in the 2015 Milton Show, this year to be held on Friday, February 20 and Saturday, February 21.

Anyone is invited to attend the showgirls presentation evening on November 29.

Cost is $50, which includes a three course meal, and tickets can be purchased from the Milton Florist.

The final time to purchase tickets will be Thursday, November 27.
