What a great way to finish a great year of golf with a Christmas-Olympic dress-up and putting contest.
Everyone came dressed up according to the Christmas-Olympic theme, which made it hard to pick the best-dressed team, but in a close result the Jamaican Archery Team of Jacquie Lehmann, Ann-Maree Kitchener and Liz McGuire took out the honours.
The Ambrose competition of the day was won by Yvonne Modra, Fay Burke and Karen March.
Each hole was a different sport and the putting had to be done with the equipment supplied. The first hole was the cricket hole so everyone had to wear a “Merv Hughes” moustache and putt with a cricket bat.
The sixth hole was the tennis hole so putting with a tennis racquet and grunting while playing the shot was compulsory.
Other holes included for example kayaking (putting with a paddle), croquet and hockey.
The last hole was the “Candy Cane” hole where the putting was done with a large candy cane with everyone receiving a free candy cane for finishing the gruelling contest.
Normal golf resumes on February 3, 2015.
