The business has been operating in Ulladulla on a part-time basis for three years, but last week expanded to a full-time service with extra staff at a new base in Green Street.
The business is headed by Alison Chiam who said the most important thing for maintaining hearing was keeping the brain and body active and maintaining good health.
“You don’t hear with your ears, you hear with your brain,” she said, explaining why she focused so strongly on brain health and its role in clear hearing.
Keeping connected and active was vitally important, Alison added.
Free hearing checks are available using a sound proof booth, and Alison recommended regular checks for anyone over 60 because people suffering hearing loss often went between 8 and 15 years before taking any action.
“Our focus is on rehabilitation, but hearing loss is something that affects us all eventually,” Alison said.
She added the business specialised in reconnecting people to their softly spoken friends and the punchlines in jokes.
"We offer many alternatives to hearing aids and have recently partnered with Cochlear Ltd and now offer Shoalhaven's first end to end service for prospective Cochlear Implantees."
