The Milton-Ulladulla Book Club believes in the luxury of both, and welcomes all types of readers into their pages.
The club was founded in 2010 by a member who had moved from Melbourne, where they had been involved in a book discussion group, and wanted to replicate the experience here.
Members have eclectic tastes which are reflected in the 2015 reading list.
Each person nominated two or three books they would like to read, with names being drawn out of a hat.
This year, the club kicked off with Richard Flanagan's award winning novel, The Narrow Road to the Deep North.
This was followed up with The Wife Drought by Annabel Crabb and Salman Rushdie's, Midnight's Children which had some members begging for an extension.
Members are as diverse as the books they read. Our membership comprises of people from all ages and backgrounds, and come from as far afield as Sussex Inlet in the North and Termeil in the South, to meet on the third Sunday of every month.
The next meeting will be on June 21 at 2pm. The book for discussion will be The Hand that First Held Mine by Maggie O’Farrell. The book might have received good reviews, but whether it lives up to the standards of the Milton Ulladulla Book Club, is yet to be seen.
If you love reading, animated conversation and congenial company, you would be most welcome at the Book Club.
Please call Robyn on (02) 44564057 for directions to the next meeting.
