The cancer munch was a huge success! What a fantastic event our tennis cancer munch fundraiser turned out to be with lots of players hitting up before the munch.
Firstly we must thank all the fantastic sponsors to make this event such a great success.
This fundraiser would not have come together without the expert coordinating skills of Bev Magee and her helpers/chefs Val Crook and Maureen Mennie, also many thanks to all who donated cakes, cash and goodies and helped at the event.
This event would not have been so successful without the support of the Milton and Ulladulla Thursday Ladies tennis groups.
We thank all who supported and participated and applaud you for raising $1425 for the Cancer Council Australia.
Saturday Morning Junior Comp Sponsored by Bakers Delight and Mr G’s Deli:
The Friday day and night weather was very average, but fortunately the sun rose on Saturday for a perfect day to hit a ball. As always thank you to my canteen helpers.
The game of tennis is a strange and courageous one. There is no other game where a person can win more points and games than their opponents and still lose the match.
The courage comes from the fact the game pits you one on one against an opponent who is trying to out finesse, out power you and push you around the court.
When mistakes are made (and they will be) there is nowhere to hide, there are no team mates to share the burden and blame. There is only you, to either face defeat or revel in glory of victory.
You will win matches and you will lose matches. Learn to handle both with dignity and you will earn respect.
Please remember that if you want to check if tennis is on if the weather has been less than favourable you can contact me on 0417437006 after 7.30am on Saturday.
Also just a reminder for players to be at the courts approx. 8.15 so that we can get underway by 8.30am.
