120 guests came together at the ExServos Club for a dinner dance to celebrate the milestone.
The organising committee of Val Crook, Pauline McIlveen, Maureen Mennie and Jennie Rutherford did an amazing job of organising this function.
With nine life members and former world No: 44 singles tennis player John Marks attending the dinner, helped to make this event special.
Volunteers past and present were acknowledged on the night with special mention to Mrs Pauline Oakes, Mrs Bev King, Mrs Barb Anderson, Mrs Lynne Hill, Mr Ron Maddox and Mr Bob Crook.
Outstanding volunteers to receive presentations were Mrs Sue Pascoe for being the coordinator of the Thursday Night Ladies Comp for the past 17 years, Mrs Vicki Sydenham for her dedication in the past to junior comps and club events and Mrs Beverley Magee for her continuing volunteering to the club.
Saturday Morning Junior Comp Sponsored by Bakers Delight & Mr G’s Deli
We started off our celebrations with a sausage sizzle, cupcakes, lolly cups and cordial straight after tennis on Saturday morning, followed up by a tennis clinic that lasted for about two hours.
The clinic was conducted by special guest John Marks. John was well supported by Doug Parker and Herbie Chee.
The juniors had a fantastic experience learning from a man who had played at the highest level against some of the legends of the game.
John also enjoyed passing on a portion of his knowledge to our eager hitters.
One of his main messages was that you need to set a goal for yourself and strive to reach it and not let anything or anyone get in your way.
You need to compete right up to and including the last point.
Our club junior comp has been run and won. There are two events still to be played out. The results for the events finished are.

Last Sunday we hosted a Medibank Junior Tournament. Please see next week’s paper for a full report and all the results of our locals that played.
Please remember that if you want to check if tennis is on if the weather has been less than favourable you can contact me on 0417437006 after 7.30am on Saturday. Also just a reminder for players to be at the courts approx. 8.15 so that we can get underway by 8.30am.
Can I remind all parents and players to look at their draw to see when you are rostered on for duty?
If you are down for duty could you see me first thing in the morning to run through what the duties entail? These tasks are working in the canteen, sweeping the floor and emptying bins.
