One of the country’s top comedians, Fiona has made good with her promise to make the people of Ulladulla wet themselves laughing and will hold a post-fest performance at the Milton Theatre on Friday October 9.
“I am so pleased to be able to come to Ulladulla this year and look forward to seeing you all,” she said.
Ulladullirious coordinator Sarah Watterson said the committee was attempting to contact everyone who had booked tickets to the previous show.
“We are delighted to be able to support Fiona and welcome her back to Ulladullirious,” Sarah said.
“We said when we wound the festival up that a year was too long between laughs – we just didn’t expect to back at it quite so soon.
“It’s important that we continue to develop our brand and build a reputation as a quality regional comedy hub, having performers of Fiona’s calibre helps us achieve this and we were never going to knock this opportunity back when we got the call.
“It’s new for us to host an adult comedy event at Milton Theatre and we are super excited to offer this iconic venue and the intimacy with performers it offers.
“This is A class comedy on your door step with the comics so close you can smell them - certainly beats the big arena gigs the cities offer.”
Fiona is one of Australia’s most successful and popular comedians.
In addition to her stellar comedy career, Fiona has also been a mother to five children and in 2009 her contribution to the Australian cultural landscape was recognised when she was awarded The Northern Territory’s Australian of the Year honour.
Hailing from Alice Springs, she has risen to become one of the most sought after stand-up comedians in the world.
Fiona is also an accomplished writer and TV presenter, having appeared on shows like Sunrise, Good News Week, Spicks and Specks, Dirty Laundry, Celebrity Apprentice as well as the Melbourne International Comedy Festival All Stars Gala countless times.
Most recently, the award-winning national documentary series Australian Story filmed an episode on Fiona, which rated over 1.3 million viewers.
She will be supported by David Smiedt who has been delighting audiences around the country and overseas with his brand of warm inclusive, uplifting, intelligent comedy.
A regular on television shows David is the author of seven humorous books and writes for more than 30 magazines.
