As a youngster growing up in Ulladulla, Tim was surrounded by art and music. He started playing guitar at the age of five, and had many inspiring people guiding him through his musical beginnings.
He moved to the Gold Coast and started his own label, XFIRE music in 2009 but decided his heart was still in Ulladulla, where he wanted to raise his own children.
Now, he would like to give back to the community and provide mentoring to the next generations coming through the music industry.
“We just want to get people off their computers and doing the things in life that make them happy,” Tim said.
“Everyone on the team here has had a lot of time in their field to be able to give advice,” he said.
The store will not only be home to musical instruments, but will also feature a rehearsal room expected to open in the next month and a recording studio which will give local artists a chance to get their big break.
They plan to host local gigs and music competitions in the future, as well as offer musical tuition.
XFIRE Music also features all the skate gear you could ever dream of, including a new line of electric skateboards and what the crew have labelled as ‘fun stuff’.
Fun stuff covers things such as fire twirling, the latest techno gagets, puzzles and games.
Ben Heggie, a musician with more than 10 years in the industry and Andy Fitch, professional snowboarder and skateboarder, have joined the XFIRE team and will be on hand to provide mentoring in music, skating and art based activities.
The new store has also been decked out with artwork by Rory Williams.
They are located at 37 Deering Street Ulladulla and will be holding an opening day on October 25 which will feature local musicians, and the opportunity to test out some of their latest gear and gadgets.
