The event will kick off with a Locavore dinner featuring produce from between the Clyde and Shoalhaven Rivers, with local producers and farmers speaking throughout the event at the Ulladulla Civic Centre.
Saturday is festival day, with families invited to bring a picnic rug and spread out on the civic centre lawn or take shelter under one of the huge marquees.
The gates will open at 11am, with former Ulladulla singer/song writer Rachel Summerell teaming up with guitarist Brenda Thurtell as the opening act on the festival stage which will also showcase Richard and the Lionhearts and Ulladulla’s own Chris Rulewski.
The $10 entry allows over 18s to enjoy live music and wine tasting until 5pm, with a range of tasting plates on sale from local eateries.
Organiser Leonie Smith said with regional beer and wine tasting all day, and fun events such as the waiter’s race set to the Ulladulla Song, a seafood barbecue cook-off, cheese making and cooking demonstration, the day was expected to attract hundreds of foodies.
“It will be a great day of gourmet food, fine wines and top quality entertainment,” she said.
Kids Cove will offer plenty for the kids to do, with art and craft table, face painting, jumping castle and more.
Entry to the main festival is free for under 18s.
“This boutique festival offers something for local and tourists during the off-peak season and also provides an opportunity for eateries to showcase their menus,” Leonie said
Festival goers can vote for the wine of the day and the plate of the day and, just by voting, could win a copy of Home Cooking With Hayden cookbook or Coastal Chef.
The festival will wrap up on Sunday with a Wine Down at local cafes, plus a giant slide in Burrill Street South from 10am.
“It's the talk of the coast,” Leonie said.
“We are expecting thousands of people to attend the slide event and I want patrons to frequent the eateries around town,” she said.
People can bring their own floatation device or purchase one from organisers on the day for $10.
Sessions will run at 10am, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm and possibly 6pm on Sunday.
Leonie said Burrill St South would be closed from Owen Street to Wason Street from 4am on Sunday until late into the night to cater for the slide.
A single Slide costs $10 or $35 for a 90-minute pass, with unlimited slides, while 90 minute family pass is $120.
Slide City Australia will donate 10 per cent of proceeds to the Milton-Ulladulla Rotary Club.
