Members appreciate all the donations which are given to the branch for us to sell and raise funds to help the work of Red Cross both here in Australia and overseas.
Recently members manned the stall at the Timberfest with the profits from the day going to help Let's Talk which gives money to the farming families in drought effected areas in Australia.
Red Cross are organising for the distribution of Trauma Teddies up around Dubbo and appreciate all the help from the community.
Trauma teddies are hand knitted bears made with love to be given out to the community via the Police, Ambulance, Medical and Dental Centres.
We appreciate all the hard work which goes into these bears and they are received with such gratitude.
A few years ago when the evacuation took place at the ExServos Red Cross members were on hand to give comfort and Trauma teddies played an enormous role in soothing both young and old.
Members are always happy to receive donations of 8ply wool and are currently very short of craft filling and would be happy to hear from anyone who has any to donate.
In the past upholstering companies have helped with filling but members would be happy to hear from anyone who can help.
With the fire season approaching, we need as many of these teddies on hand as possible just in case they are needed in an emergency.
Please telephone Phyllis Emery on 44541598 if you can help.
