Ulladulla High School students woke on Thursday morning to the sound of their Australian Tertiary Admission Ranking arriving via a text message.

A number of students received an ATAR in the 90’s.
Lily O’Brien did not realise at the time, but her ATAR of 95.25 solidified her spot as dux of Ulladulla High.
“I’m happy,” she said.
“It’s been a solid two years of study.
“I realised towards the end how important life balance was,” she said.
Her best subject was Ancient History, for which she received a mark of 93.
Lily plans study either medical science or advanced science at the Australian National University in 2017.
Next year, she will take a gap year to work and travel around Europe.
David Robertson, who attended the International Youth Science Forum earlier this year, was also excited about his ATAR of 95.
At the Ulladulla High School morning tea on Thursday, he received a phone call offering him a scholarship at UTS to study finance, which he has accepted for 2017.
He too will spend a year working and travelling before continuing his studies.
Some of the other top achievers included Tom Rutherford, with an ATAR of 94.2 and Natasha Harvey with a UAI of 91.85.
There were also a number of students who achieved ATARs in the high 80’s.
Kate Lahiff received 88 and is excited to begin her Bachelor of Advanced Nursing at the University of Wollongong next year. Her long term goal is to work in India as a nurse.
Jackson Allen was happy with his ATAR of 90 and plans to study a double degree in science and art at the University of Wollongong.
He was the only student who sat the HSC in French continuers.
“French was my favourite subject,” he said.
“There were a few people at the start of the course, but everyone dropped out.
“I wasn’t worried, I really enjoy it anyway,” he said.
Principal, Denise Lofts said she was happy with the spread of results, with band sixes in everything from Maths and English, to Design and Technology.
“It’s a fantastic result from our little country high school,” Mrs Lofts said.
“We have done exceptionally well.”
