The FuelCheck website is the first service of its kind in Australia and will change the way drivers buy petrol by providing accurate, real-time fuel price information for every service station across NSW.
The website will be accessible on any device connected to the internet, including smartphones, tablets, desktop computers and laptops.
“In our area, fuel prices can vary dramatically from one service station to another,” Member for the South Coast Shelley Hancock said.
“FuelCheck will allow drivers in the South Coast to find and purchase the cheapest fuel at any time.”
Along with fuel prices, motorists will be able to access directions to any service station and search for fuel by type or brand when using the website.
Importantly, if the price at the pump doesn’t match what is shown on FuelCheck, customers will be able to submit a complaint directly to NSW Fair Trading via the website.
“Service stations will be required to update petrol price changes as soon as they make changes, so customers can compare prices,” Mrs Hancock said.
“The NSW Government is committed to boosting competition in the fuel sector and delivering a better deal to NSW motorists.”
FuelCheck is currently in Beta version testing mode and consumers are asked to offer their feedback to NSW Fair Trading on the functionality and ease of use of the website.
