Three players in Kev’s elite training squad Anton Willet, Riley White and Natasha Phillips-Edgar successfully competed in the ACT Challenge over the long weekend.
This was an Australian Ranking Tournament for both adults and juniors in Canberra.
Anton won the 14 and under boys singles. Riley made the quarter finals of the 12 and under boys singles and with Lachlan Rowing of Batemans Bay won the 12 and under boys doubles title.
Natasha was knocked out in the second round of the 14 and under girls singles main draw but then went on to make the semi-final of the consolation draw and with Aria Little of Merimbula made the semi-final of the 12 and under girls doubles.
These players train hard with their individual coaches a few times a week and also with club coach Kevin Murphy as a group every Thursday.
All the hard work is paying off.

New Deck
Work is continuing on the replacement of the old deck on the eastern side of the clubhouse. This will be a complete new deck area with new footings and a glass balustrade with the addition of a roof from the eastern clubhouse side to the court fence. We will also be building a new covered barbecue area.
To complete the work it will take another one to two weeks. During that time all access on that side of the clubhouse is restricted as the work areas will be barricaded off for Work Health and Safety regulations. So we ask that members, including children, please enter the clubhouse from the western door and refrain from entering the construction site.
The Shoalhaven council has very generously come on board and covered the cost of this upgrade. We are very grateful for the cooperation and assistance of council in this venture.
