The man was jailed for 10 months with a non-parole period of five months in Milton Local Court on Thursday.
The 31-year-old had been in an on-off again relationship with the victim, court documents said. Shortly after 2:30pm on February 3, the offender and the victim got into an argument.
The victim punched the offender in the face and walked to the neighbour’s house. The offender followed and punched her in the forehead three times.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming found there was no alternative than a period of full-time imprisonment.
“You hit somebody not once, but three times. In fact you’re currently serving community service for assaulting the same person.”
