A WOLLONGONG woman banned from driving until 2064, who led police on a high speed chases on the Princes Highway at Ulladulla in February, has been jailed for three years.

Kayla Maree Hasiuk, 26, of West Wollongong was banned from driving for another 51 years when she hopped behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Magna on February 10. What followed was a trail of destruction after she collided with three vehicles, two of them parked on the side of the road, and led police on two separate pursuits in which speeds of around 130km/h were reached.
Police were alerted to the erratic manner a Mitsubishi Magna was being driven south on the highway by members of the public around 2pm, including one report the car had collided with a guardrail near Fisherman’s Paradise.
Police spotted the vehicle near Ulladulla, activating their lights and sirens but the car failed to stop.
Court papers said the vehicle overtook two cars on the nearside at the intersection of Green Street, colliding with a parked car.
The Magna continued and failed to stop at a red traffic light at Wason Street and reached speeds between 80 and 120km/h in the 60 zone.
Court papers said after turning left into Deering Street the the vehicle hit the kerb but continued down the road, reaching 100km/h in a 50 zone.
The vehicle again hit the kerb before performing a U turn and stopping on a nature strip opposite Lighthouse Oval. The car then headed west on Deering Street back towards the highway.
Police said the car again hit the gutter, colliding with another vehicle before turning south onto the highway.
Hasiuk attempted to overtake another vehicle, collided with a car and narrowly missed two pedestrians at the intersection of Deering Street.
Police pursued the vehicle for around six kilometres before terminating the chase.
Highway patrol officers at East Lynne again spotted vehicle but it sped off, reaching speeds of 136km/h in a 100 zone, crossing double yellow lines.
As the vehicle raced across the Batemans Bay bridge over the Clyde River it again crossed to the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic, with police abandoning the pursuit.
The car was later found abandoned at Mogo.
Police learned Hasiuk had been picked up by another motorist and dropped off at Moruya, where officers later found her.
Police discovered she was banned from driving for 51 years until 2064.
She pleaded guilty to a variety of driving charges including driving while disqualified, two counts of police pursuit, three counts of not giving particulars to other drivers, exceeding the speed limit by 30km/h and not keeping left of the dividing line.
She also pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and giving a false name after being stopped for a random breath test at Waterfall on December 29 last year.
In Nowra Local Court, Magistrate Philip Stewart sentenced Hasiuk to an aggregate jail term of three years from January 21, 2018 with a non-parole period of 20 months. She will be eligible for parole from September 20, 2019.
