South Coast Police District, with the assistance from the financial crimes squad’s arson unit, began an investigation into nine bushfires believed to have been deliberately lit at South Pacific Heathland Reserve over the last three months.
The first of the suspicious fires was lit on July 28 in Coral Crescent, Ulladulla. On one day alone, firefighters were called to six different locations to put out fires.
No injuries have been reported to police from these incidents.
