At Milton Local Court on February 14, Francesco Bergamini pleaded guilty to mid-range drink driving and possession of cannabis.
Magistrate Gabriel Fleming told the court Bergamini had doubled the legal limit when he blew 0.100. Fleming also raised the risk and poor manner of Bermgamini’s driving on the day of the incident.
“It’s your manner of driving that brings you to the attention of police,” she said.
“Speeding and overtaking vehicles on the highway. You lost control and collided with embankment on the highway.”
He was convicted and fined $800, disqualified for nine months, ordered to fit an interlock device for 12 months for drink-driving. He was also convicted fined $200 for drug possession.
