Michael Pirrello, 36, and Francesco Pirrello, 42, were both found not guilty of conspiring to import a border controlled substance following a three month NSW Supreme Court jury trial in Sydney.
The brothers were accused of conspiring with each other, convicted criminal Joseph Pirrello and others to import the drug between January 13, 2015 and May 31, 2015.
The Ulladulla men were found not guilty almost three years after their arrests as part of a multimillion-dollar cocaine ring bust in December 2016.
Joseph 'Joe' Pirrello, 66, was sentenced to at least 14 years behind bars in the NSW Supreme Court in December 2018. Pirrello had pleaded guilty to importing a commercial quantity of a border-controlled drug, and of conspiring to do so, in a wide-reaching syndicate based at the Sydney Fish Markets.
The brothers claim they are no relation to Joseph Pirrello.
