Property prices across the region grew up to 20 per cent in 2016 and local agents expect the trend to continue over the next 12 months.
Coast Real Estate licensee Grant Schultz said it is definitely a seller’s market.
“The NSW North Coast and Illawarra have all peaked in price, but we are still a strong value-for-money investment,” he said.
“Even if the Sydney market does soften I do not see the local market weakening.”
Real estate experts are in unison that growth will continue throughout 2017.
2016 and 2017 market overview
Bella Coastal Mollymook/Milton – Rhonda Finlayson
“It has been a real boom in 2016, it was crazy all year and I feel it wont be slowing down. The current property market is very strong, and the basic underlying factors of that is the record low interest rates and that produces the consumer confidence. There is going to be solid price growth in 2017.”
Coast Real Estate – Grant Schultz
“There has been strong growth in the last 12 month and we are still seeing an increase in growth with accelerating prices. The region still represents a good value-for-money investment, even if the Sydney market does soften I do not see the local market weakening. I would look seriously at selling in 2017.”
First National Ulladulla – Darren Sparks
“I think the expectations of the market moving forward will continue. The trend of steady and consistent growth, will certainly continue through the first half of the year with the Sydney market a determining factor on the local market.”
One Agency Mollymook, Milton and Ulladulla – Chris Coffey
“The market will continue to be strong in 2017 due to the uneven supply and demand. There are simply more buyers than sellers in the marketplace, putting pressure on prices.”
Raine and Horne Mollymook/Ulladulla – Ben Pryde
“It has been and still is an exciting and competitive market place. We can expect the same for the first half of 2017 and possibly beyond. A high demand and lack of supply will continue to put the squeeze on property values.”
Ray White Surfside – Brett Hemsworth
“The area is experiencing good growth and strong prices at present. Potential sellers have an opportunity to benefit from this trend in the market.”
