The announcement comes amid record tourism rates across the region and Member for the South Coast Shelley Hancock said the campaign’s extension will be used to continue promoting the region.
“The ‘Unspoilt’ campaign has proved highly successful in increasing overnight visitation throughout winter and spring, through promoting the crystal-clear waters, beaches and national parks,” she said.
“The Liberals & Nationals Government has invested almost $1.5 million in the campaign since 2014, seeing a six per cent increase in visitor numbers which has translated to a 23 per cent increase in dollars spent in our region.
“That’s a $478 million boost to the local economy.”
