Grant Schultz is this week recirculating petitions in an effort to reach the 10,000 mark.
“Anyone who is a NSW resident and on the electoral roll can sign. Every signature helps,” he said.
“Petitioners can only sign once. All signatures are checked against the electoral roll for validity.”
Meanwhile, the Ulladulla and Districts Community Forum has urged people to write to the Archbishop of Sydney, the Bishop of Wollongong and the Anglican Schools’ Corporation urging them to accept “the Government’s offer” for the “benefit of our community”.
Fairfax Media understands the government has made an offer on the site. However, South Coast MP Shelley Hancock said discussions were “on going”.
“I will continue to work with the Education Minister to ensure the best outcome for the South Coast,” she said.
“It’s important people sign the petition to see the matter debated in parliament. Community support in relation to this issue has been phenomenal and I ask that they keep this fantastic momentum going.”
