Year 6 student Cate Morrison lost her locks in front of her peers at the school’s hall on September 26. Cate’s final total she raised for the Holly Burns Foundation was $5150.50.
Holly’s mother Amanda Burns said she was shocked when Cate and her dad, John, approached her about the fundraising idea.
“I was blown away that someone so young would want to do that for someone they didn’t know all that well,” Mrs Burns said.
Mrs Burns said Cate has not only raised funds, but awareness about Holly’s condition.
“Over the time Cate spent fundraising for Holly I got to see what a beautiful personality Cate has and how caring and compassionate she is too,” Mrs Burns said. “I’m so proud of Cate for putting herself out there to do such a special thing for Holly.”
