CHAMPIONSHIPS: Only one semi-final match of the Major Pairs last Saturday due to district committments with the Wall team. The Wilton/Clark pair got away smartly with a triple & a deuce against Ray Flinn & Andrew Jarvis who replied very well to be 9/5 after the 5th end. They then continued to lead for the rest of the afternoon despite some very determined bowling by John & Clarky, in fact they were merely two behind after the 16th. However Flinny & Andy were just too good on the day, final score 25/16. The quarter final of the Mixed Fours played saw the Gary McGuire(S), Terry & Di Hill, Denise Page team defeat Ron Wall, Andy & Kerrie Jarvis & Margaret Allen 25/14 in an early match before the Sunday a/noon contests. Sunday's results were: Darcy Nelson (S), Nola West-Newman, Ivan Traves & Liz Hume 21 Krusty Watson, Jannette Sargent, Dan Prestage, Val Abbott 11; Al Wynter, Craig Lees, Mary Adams, Shirley Boller 22 John Wilton, Lyn Newton, Eric Woodburn & Carolyn Perry 18; Trish Moy, Dave Bradshaw, Geoff Travis, Lyn Youren 20 Paul Barnes, Croc Dundas, Val Brady & Debbie Boller 18.
SOCIAL: Wednesday Triples welcomed Nick King (L.Conjola) & Wayne Armstrong from Cootamundra. A Fours team skipped by Darcy with Peter Crowe(3rd), Brandley & Craig Lees took out the lucky rink vouchers with a 22/17 win versus Dave Bradshaw, Al Montefiore, Doug Hume & Bob Rusk. Friday Open Pairs. Big news here is that the $880 jackpot "went orf" & was won by Ray Flinn & Andrew Jarvis with a 20/17 win against their happy losers John Wilton & John Paul. Tony Hutchins & Ron Wynter won the $120 prize; Ivan & Mark won mark's Shout & Harro & Rich invested the KENO voucher.
