Milton 1 consisted of Maxine Prothero, Bec Grills, Georgia McMaster, James Simmons, Les Myers and Murray Fox. Young gun Maxine showed some seriously impressive work in the area to score great goals. Jamie in the men's section saw his experience get quality goals also.
The two positions filled by Bec and Les saw them blocking the opposition to give a clear run to their attacking players. The threes of Georgia McMaster and Murray Fox showed outstanding defence. Georgia, pleased to be back after a couple of years break, rode a young horse who showed great maturity in defence. Murray on Boots hunted his opposition relentlessly. Congratulations team on your runners-up award.
Milton 2 was made up of Kym McMaster, Jess Liddiard, Claire McMaster, Drew Morton, Gavin Morton and Heath Cole. Kym and Drew place outstandingly in the one positions. Jess and Gav kept everyone honest in the midfield and Claire, on another young horse, and Heath were wonderful at keeping their opposition on the go.
Kim Porter, Amy Lyons and Sally Herne were a section with Harden and had a great weekend with new horses and new positions. Thanks to the many club members who offered advice before and during the games.
The junior section comprised MacKenzie Prior-McPherson, Jed Morton and Saffy Fox. MacKenzie, playing her first carnival, scored great goals in the one position. Jed, stepping up to juniors, had an outstanding game and Saffy was inspiring in defence. Congratulations on your runners-up award.
The Zone Awards were also presented on the Saturday night with Most Improved Sub-Junior Girl going to Saffy Fox and Best Intermediate Male, Nathan Shea. Special congratulations to Nathan who with his horse Federal Park Trek was awarded Best ASH in the Intermediate competition at Nationals held in Perth, also winning the Mixed Intermediate competition.
Please note that our club will be hosting our carnival on May 11-12. This year a new initiative has been developed where non polocrosse riders can come along and have a go at the sport.
Blue Bandage polocrosse is non contact, with equipment supplied, coached by accredited coaches at a cost of $65 which covers insurance and NSW polocrosse fees. This gives you the ability to play Blue Bandage games at any carnival. If you would like further information contact Sally on 0412 251 722.
