The brigade just put up a statement on Facebook which details the incident.
"Your local Bawley Point Rural Fire Service (RFS) volunteers have been left rather dismayed at what can only be described as a senseless and unprovoked attack upon their fire station, that has seen a stack of fruit thrown at the brigade premises in Thrush Street.
"Bawley Point brigade volunteers are deeply disappointed that someone in their own community has seen the need to do this, and for what purpose? A clean up has now been completed by Bawley volunteers who already give freely of their time to help the community. It's a bit of a concern that some local people don't seem to have respect for what the volunteer firefighters do.
The brigade has cleaned up the place but it was at the expense of more of their time. As volunteers we put in "many hours helping to serve and protect the community and now this happens and it becomes something else for them to do that is just totally unnecessary. It's a completely pointless act.
"We need to stop this before now, as it shows a distinct lack of respect for the brigade and the community. So, please if anyone has any information about this incident which happened probably last night (Friday June 12), please let us know by contacting 4457 1633 and leaving a message, or email the brigade at bawleypointrfb@gmail.com. You can also post your information here in response to this message can take further legal action.
Bawley Point volunteers have put a lot of time and energy into the fire brigade and are very proud of their humble facility, and as volunteers serving the community they don't deserve this. No one needs this, not the community and certainly not the RFS."
