Fire and Rescue NSW Station 477 Ulladulla firefighters were called to the incident just before 10pm last night [Sunday] and were quick to contain the situation.
They responded to calls from the public that smoke and flames were coming from a house in Ulladulla.
Firefighters, on their arrival, were confronted with a house that was well alight.
There were reports that a person was missing and possibly in the house.
A crew entered the house to attempt a rescue and also to extinguish the fire.
Fortunately, nobody was found inside the house.
The occupant/owner was not home at the time, was accounted for and was out of town, according to the fire department, at the time.
The house suffered extensive damage and the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Police were on the scene this morning to carry out investigations.
